Digital + Social Producer

Overview

The Digital + Social Producer supports a statewide network of progressive advocacy organizations in Nebraska by developing compelling digital and visual content for deployment across a range of digital platforms. Reporting directly to the Communications Director, this role is important for amplifying progressive values, driving public narratives, and supporting rapid-response and digital campaigns across our state, focusing on issues like social justice, civic engagement, and accountability.

This is a full-time position with a flexible schedule.

Content development (60%)

  • Design and produce a steady stream of shareable digital content for social media platforms (Facebook, X, Instagram, etc.), including graphics, short videos, infographics, and memes.
  • Create visual stories and creative assets that translate complex policy issues into accessible and engaging narratives for a general audience.
  • Develop content specifically for rapid-response scenarios to counter disinformation and immediately amplify key talking points.
  • Assist in the creation of written content such as short blog posts, social media copy, and email snippets, ensuring consistency in tone and message across the network.

Communications support (30%)

  • Work with the Communications Director to align content with strategic messaging priorities and campaign goals.
  • Coordinate with state-level partners to tailor content for local relevance and ensure it resonates with specific community narratives.
  • Maintain a content calendar and digital asset library.

Analytics and improvement (10%)

  • Monitor content performance and digital engagement metrics.
  • Contribute insights to team discussions about what content is most effective for increasing civic engagement and policy awareness.

Experience

  • 1-3 years of experience in digital content creation, social media management, or graphic design, ideally in an advocacy, political, or nonprofit environment.
  • Proven proficiency with graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and basic video editing software.
  • Familiarity-to-fluency with various social media platforms and best practices for creating high-performing, shareable content.
  • Understanding of progressive values and the urgency of the statewide and national progressive communications landscape.

Soft skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and remotely with minimal supervision.

Compensation

This is a full-time, exempt position starting at $55,000 annually, commensurate with experience. The role is a remote position, but Nebraska-based candidates are preferred. The Comms Hub is an equal opportunity employer.
